Fraunhofer in Brazil

The Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for New Food Systems has been jointly established by Fraunhofer Institut for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV and the Institute of Food Technology ITAL at Campinas, São Paulo in 2013. The main research topic at that FIP-NFS@ITAL is the development of innovative products and processes for the food and packaging industry with the focus on the integrated use of new raw materials and biomass. The FIP-NFS@ITAL wants to strengthen small and medium-sized companies in both countries ad develop new markets for them.

The Fraunhofer Project Center for Advanced Manufacturing (FPC@ITA) is a joint venture between the Technological Institute of Aeronautics ITA in São José dos Campos, Brazil, and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology IPK. The FPC is based within the facilities of the Competence Center for Manufacturing (CCM) at ITA. Research topics are production / manufacturing technologies, machine / control technology, automation in the manufacturing / assembly process of aircraft structural. The FPC proactively addresses the needs of the aerospace and mechanical engineering industry.
