Fraunhofer Project Center for Drug Discovery and Delivery at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem

The central idea of the Fraunhofer Project Center for Drug Discovery and Delivery @ Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel is to exploit mechanisms of innate immunity in combination with targeted drug delivery. Immunemodulatory compounds are to be developed in a way that both viral infections and inflammatory diseases can be addressed more effectively. Targeted delivery of these compounds is to be achieved via liposomal nanoparticles to ensure high accumulation at the disease site. The Center is a cooperation between the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology and the Institute for Drug Research at the Hebrew University.
