Tjaša Bole-Rentel

Tjaša Bole-Rentel holds a BA in Economics from the University of Ljubljana and an MSc in Environment and Resource Management from the Free University in Amsterdam. She joined the Worldwide Fund for Nature South Africa in September 2014, where she holds the position of Bioenergy Programme Manager.

She has over 10 years’ worth of experience as a researcher and advisor in the environmental field, having worked on a number of issues related to bioenergy. She has conducted research in feedstock production potentials and policy support options, developed decision-support tools for development practitioners looking to implement bioenergy projects, as well as hands-on policy development experience. Most recently, she has been involved in a number of projects working to develop a sustainable aviation fuel sector in sub-Saharan Africa, by developing the necessary knowledge base and capacitating key stakeholders to shape this emerging opportunity into an inclusive, high-impact sector with a key role to play in the region’s just transition to a low carbon society.
