Jacob Sterling brings broad experience on decarbonisation and sustainability with 20+ years’ experience in the field, in both the NGO and private sector.
He is currently Head of Technical Innovation in A.P. Moller-Maersk, where innovation mainly focuses on finding solutions to decarbonise shipping and enable Maersk to achieve its ambition of net zero CO2 emissions by 2050.
He serves as an employee elected member to the Board of Directors of A.P. Moller-Maersk, and is also member of the Board of Directors at NEPCon – an NGO with a strong focus on sustainability certification and a leading global market share within FSC certification.
Jacob has worked in Maersk since 2009 and prior to his current role, he had leading roles within product management and sustainability, including as Conservation Director at WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature). He holds a master’s degree in biology.
