For the last four years, David has led NWF’s efforts to shift U.S. biofuel policy away from first generation corn- and soy-based fuels and toward more sustainable alternatives through policy development and public education efforts.
Recently, he has also expanded into climate policy with a focus on natural climate solutions.
David draws on more than 10 years of experience working in the U.S. Congress and with other conservation organisations. Working for Congressman Ron Kind, he helped spearhead a major Farm Bill reform initiative, while also working extensively on wildlife, federal lands, and climate issues. He followed his five years on Capitol Hill with analysis and government relations roles at Environmental Working Group and Defenders of Wildlife.
David earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from New York University and a master’s degree in environmental science and policy from Johns Hopkins University.
