Air New Zealand postpones biofuel flight following Airbus A320 loss off French coast | Air New Zealand
Wed 3 Dec 2008 – Today’s scheduled biofuel test flight from Auckland of an Air New Zealand Boeing 747-400 has been postponed until early January following the loss of an Air New Zealand Airbus A320, which came down in the Mediterranean off the coast of France last Friday.

In a statement, Air New Zealand said: “The full efforts and resources of Air New Zealand will be focused over the coming days on providing support to the family members of the missing New Zealanders and to our people, and assisting in the investigation of the A320 accident in France.”

The aircraft had been on lease to XL Airways of Germany and was en-route from Perpignan to Frankfurt before being flown back to New Zealand. Seven people are reported to have lost their lives including four ANZ personnel.

A new date for the biofuel flight is expected to be announced shortly.
