San Francisco\u2014<\/strong>ClimateWorks Foundation announced today that Curtis D. Ravenel, founder and former Global Head of the Sustainable Business & Finance Group at Bloomberg LP, will join the foundation as a fellow. He is a leading expert on environmental, social, and governance data and analysis who helped to manage and continues to advise the secretariat of the Financial Stability Board\u2019s Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure<\/a> (TCFD). Ravenel will support ClimateWorks\u2019 Sustainable Finance portfolio.<\/p>\n

The Sustainable Finance program<\/a> aims to catalyze financial and market changes that accelerate climate action. Its grantmaking portfolio spans private and public finance strategies and comprises initiatives to translate increasing awareness of climate risk into large-scale capital reallocation, and to scale investments in low-carbon innovation and deployment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled for a seasoned executive of Curtis Ravenel\u2019s caliber to join the ClimateWorks team,\u201d said Charlotte Pera, Chief Executive Officer of ClimateWorks. \u201cCurtis\u2019 early leadership in integrating sustainability into financial data, news, and analytics tools influenced many companies to consider climate risk when making financial decisions. He will help ClimateWorks and its many partners to support the rapid decarbonization of the financial system.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ravenel created the Sustainable Business & Finance group at Bloomberg in 2007 with a focus on internal operations and targeted operating efficiencies that created environmental and financial returns. Under his leadership, Bloomberg integrated sustainability considerations into the firm\u2019s operations globally and developed strategies to evaluate sustainability-related risks and opportunities for their user base of finance professionals and other influential decision-makers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to bringing my experience working with business, financial, regulatory communities on climate and other sustainability matters to climate philanthropy,\u201d said Ravenel. \u201cI am eager to help ClimateWorks align the financial system with the Paris Agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n
